Newbuild and Refit

Since 2005 Saunders Morgan Harris has been working with Owners, Brokers and Distributors to ensure that the vessel they are building, or having refitted, is completed to specification, performs as intended and is of the best quality possible.

We work closely with the Yard, Owners and their Captain and Crew from the very start of the project right through to acceptance and beyond.

As practicing surveyors for over twenty years with NDT ultrasound qualifications for composite builds and visual weld inspection qualifications for steel / aluminium yachts, the surveyors at SMH Ltd are highly qualified, however where there are particular requirements for additional skills SMH Ltd can additionally bring in our network of specialists which include:

We have just completed in build inspections of a composite production yacht built in the UK.

We are currently undertaking new build inspections on a 35M steel and aluminium tri deck explorer yacht on the Adriatic coast and a 30M semi production composite motorboat in the UK, both to be launched towards the end of 2017.
